Mental Health Sector Profile - Intersectoral Agencies
Intersectoral agencies play an important part in supporting the mental health sector. While they are not specialist providers of services, their clientele is often made up of mental health consumers and their families.
Consumers and their families often come into contact with many of these organisations out of necessity and sometimes desperation. Intersectoral groups provide invaluable support to the mental health sector in their statutory roles and also as a provider of support and advocacy services.
Intersectoral agencies are members of the Future Directions Southland Mental Health Network which represents the strategic and working relationship that the different sectors share.
