Mental Health Sector Profile - Murihiku Mental Health Trust
The Murihiku Mental Health Trust delivers Peer Support and Advocacy Services to consumers. They are based in Invercargill and have a District-Wide contract. They employ one part-time coordinator (25 hours), one administrator (20 hours) and a Maori Advocate (10 hours). As well as advocacy and support services they also deliver writing, poetry and drama classes to consumers at the Invercargill and Gore Activity Centres. The Trust also supports the CAMH's Group (Consumer Action Mental Health), which holds monthly meetings that provide peer support for consumers. The services are free and can be accessed via referral or self-referral.
